Safer school crossings is about keeping kids safe as well as creating environments where walking and riding is encouraged, not feared.

From the survey responses so far, we have learned:

  • 73% supported an improved traffic warden program (eg: flexible or shared shifts, relief positions, retention incentives)

  • 65% called for more permanent warden positions

  • 56% wanted wider recruitment advertising for wardens

  • 41% supported improved signage to better inform driver behaviour

  • 34% backed signage or flashing lights instead of wardens

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey and share their experiences to help build a community-led plan for safer crossings.
